Thursday, July 25, 1929 Hard thunder shower early this morning then a hot sticky day until early evening. Then another shower and a big drop in temperature. At the store all day long getting ready for my week in New York next week. Went over to Beecher, Bennett, and Lincoln's this afternoon to Burt Blatchly's funeral. Had supper in town tonight then went over to Dwight Place Church to the closing exercises of the Vacation Bible School of the children from Plymouth, Dwight, and Calvary. Lota Curtiss has been teaching there this summer. She brought me home in their car. Received a letter from Sarah today written off Newfoundland and mailed at Plymouth, England.
