Wednesday, July 31,, 1929 Another scorcher here in New York. Had breakfast here in the Commodore Hotel. Received a letter from T.P.H. enclosing a letter from Sarah written on board the "American Merchant" as it neared England and mailed at Plymouth. Looked over the Standard W.P. Co. line this morning. Had lunch with Charles Slocumb and called on the Muralia people and saw their very wonderful line of 30 inch and 20 inch goods. Then looked at the York Card and Paper Co., shown by Lon Steele. Harley left for Buffalo tonight on the sleeper to see the linseed oil people about future business. We had dinner at the Commodore and went to the movies.
