Sunday, June 2, 1929 Still in Dallas, Texas. The convention proper closed yesterday but I am staying on for the assembly of District Governors this coming week. Had breakfast at the Baker Hotel Coffee Shop then I went to the First Baptist Church, both church school and church. They had 2958 in attendance at the church school. Dr. Truett preached at the morning service and he had a marvelous sermon. I had luncheon with George Cooper, Will McLean, John Dawson then went down to the station and saw them off for home. Don Adams stayed over till Monday as he has to attend an important conference. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis took me to ride this afternoon and I took them to dinner tonight. My, it has been a scorcher.
