Wednesday, June 12, 1929 Mrs. Knapp and I got started in earnest on our Rotary work. Had lunch at Q-club. At five o'clock, I drove out to Orange to the Boys Overnight Camp Site and attended ceremony of dedication of flag pole and flag raising. Fred Dawless of Rotary Club was chairman of committee and Mayor Tully spoke. It is a lovely spot. Drove in to the Armory to the Annual Meeting of the New Haven Grays Veterans Association. We watched the actives drill and afterwards adjourned to the Foot Gaurd Armory for our meeting and refreshments. Afterwards, we elected for president Carl F. Ballmann, Vice President - Frederick G. Crabb. Members of the board to serve three years - Charles McClelland, John L. Gilson, Philip English.
