Friday, June 14, 1929 Fearfully hot today. Sally and Pete drove up from Norwalk today. They brought Alice Drew Lockwood along and she went on up to Springfield with me. I took Sally up as far as Hartford. She went to a luncheon with Polly Williams, Eleanor Effler, Catherine Effler, Mary Lou Wattle, all of Pine Manor. They had a regular reunion. I took Alice Drew on up to her sister's in Springfield. I had my lunch at the Hotel Kimball. Alice came to the store, then we started home. Called in Hartford for Sally. We also brought down home with us Eleanor and Catherine Effler for the night and tomorrow. I took Alice Drew in to the New Haven Station to the 8-22 train for home and "Fred". --- (Alice Drew is visiting Sarah Drew Ballard, her only living sister at this time.)
