Cloudy, followed by heavy rain late afternoon and evening. Alice Drew called at the house and found us out. She left a note and a check for $25.00 for Sally as a "going away gift". So dear of her. T.P.H. and I drove down to Savin Rock tonight to a dinner with the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club. It was their installation of officers and Ladies Night. Jim Thwing and I were the speakers of the evening. At a meeting of the Spring Glen Club, authority was voted to a committee to go ahead on a new building plan for a new club house up near the tennis courts. Sarah went over and represented the family. The idea is to abandon the present club and grounds for this new idea.
