Friday, May 3, 1929 Went in to the office early this morning and then drove to the Springfield store. Had lunch at the Hotel Kimball. Later in the afternoon, I drove over to Westfield. Called on the Bryan Hardware Co. and came on down home over the College Highway. We hurried through dinner and went down to Woolsey Hall to the Glee Club Concert of the combined Glee Clubs of Montclair, N.J, Choral Club of Hartford, and the University Glee Club of New Haven. It was a wonderful concert. Woolsey Hall was packed to the doors. Sarah told us last night of her engagement to Leonard M. Barker (Pete). He is from Mason City, Iowa and a student in the Yale School of the Drama. We are perfectly satisfied with her choice and are happy to see her so happy.
