Monday, May 6, 1929 Fair all day till evening then it rained great guns at night. This evening, I went down to the First Methodist Church to supper then attended the annual meeting of the New Haven Council of Churches. Rev. Behrens Mertens was elected president and Clarence Bronson was elected treasurer to succeed Rev. Orville Petty as president and myself as treasurer, both of whom did not care to serve again. Dr. Moffatt was the speaker of the evening. T.P.H. called for me and we stopped at Violette's to see Lillian and Ralph Fox, who had just driven through Washington D.C.
