Ralph Fox called us up from New York this afternoon saying that he and his mother were on their way to New Haven from Washington D.C. They had driven practically all night. Later they arrived and went out to Violette's. T.P.H. and I called at Violette to see them. Business meeting of Calvary Baptist Church tonight. The church constitution and bylaws have been entirely rewritten at the request of Mr. Camp, our minister. This new instrument was adopted after much discussion and many changes.
We held our 25¢ jubilee where Mr. Bidwell, chairman of our finance committee, announced that we needed 150 25¢ pledges in order to put the budget over the top. The few people there pledged. 100 of these pledges. The rest will be asked from those who were not present.

(Seems like an error, as Vernon has Ralph Fox leaving on 5/7/1929.)
