Thursday, May 9, 1929 Beautiful day today but the air is still quite cool. Drove to Springfield store today. Went over to Violette's and got Lillian and took her Westfield, Mass. to spend the day with Nettie Wight Gibbs. Had my lunch at the Hotel Kimball Coffee Shop then went with Harry Fitch to Palmer and Ware, Mass. to call on some customers. Went back to Springfield store, got my Packard, drove over to Westfield, and picked up Lillian and brought her back to Violette's. We had a nice visit going up and back. T.P.H. and I went in town tonight to the Yale Theatre and saw the four one act plays that they put on. Sarah had a part in one of them. She did mighty well but the play was very poor.
