Thursday, May 23, 1929 Beautiful day all day but not warm enough to let our furnace fire go out. In fact, I had to order another ton of coal today. Don Adams invited a member of us Rotarians to have lunch with him at the New Haven Lawn Club to meet Rotarian Tom Stephenson of Edinborough, Scotland. We had a fine time and he gave us a brief but most interesting history of the Rotary movement in the British Isles. Meeting of the Executive Board of the New Haven Grays Veterans Association at 5 o'clock Daylight Saving Time. Held at New Haven Graduate Club, 155 Elm Street. Chief matter of business was the coming Annual Meeting. President Carl F. Ballman presided. Worked tonight till quite late getting my work caught up, prepartory to going to Dallas, Texas to the Rotary Convention.
