Sunday, May 26, 1929 Had breakfast on the train also lunch before reaching St. Louis. Arrived there just after lunch then Ray Reigeluth, John Dawson, and I hired a auto and drove around St. Louis until train time. We left St. Louis at 2-35 on the "Blue Bonnett", a fine train on the M.K. + T. lines. Passed through Springfield, MO, Monet, MO, Paris, Oklahoma to Dallas. Very hot in St. Louis but cooler on the train but the road bed was very rough.
