Saturday, November 2, 1929 Cloudy and muggy. Busy at the store till one o'clock then T.P.H., Sally, and Peter called for me and we drove out to the Yale Bowl to the Yale-Dartmouth game. The Bowl was nearly filled. The estimated attendance being 70,000, by far the largest attendance ever to attend a Dartmouth game. It proved to be about the best football game that I have ever seen. Yale won 16 to 12. Once Yale was ahead 10 to 0 then Dartmouth scored twice to forge ahead 12 to 10. Then in the last few minutes of the game, Ellis intercepted a Dartmouth forward pass and ran 72 yards for the touchdown and winning the game 16 to 12 for Yale. Booth played a fine game for Yale but was well covered. Mansters was the star for Dartmouth. Greene is captain at Yale and Ellsworth Armstrong, a New Haven boy, is the Dartmouth captain.
