Friday, November 8, 1929 In Springfield at the home of Paul and Portia Keizer. Had breakfast with them and he took me down to the Springfield store and T.P.H. and Portia went shopping. Later, Paul and I went to the Rotary Office and visited with Russ Ragan, the secretary. I made my official visit to the Springfield Rotary Club today. Met with the club assembly at 11-30 then addressed the club at noon. There was a fine attendance and President Paul had invited the ladies to come in and sit in the balcony and hear my speach. Tessie told me afterward that it was fine and she was so proud. That made me very happy. Spent the afternoon at the Spfld store. Stopped at the Bryan Hdw Co. on the way home.
