Saturday, November 30, 1929 Cold wave is upon us. Thermometer down to 10° above zero this morning at six thirty. Did not go above twenty all day long. Very cold again tonight. Much suffering among the poor. Worked all day at store until 6-30 pricing wall paper. T.P.H. and Sally called for me then we had supper at home and brought Sarah back in to the Drama School while she and I went on down to West Haven and called on Ruby Beers and Betsy who is visiting at Grace Hall, her sister. We talked over old times together. We came in town and called for Sarah at Yale Drama School.
