Wednesday, October 2, 1929 In a pouring rain, we drove in town. Took Sally to the station to take the eight o'clock train to Hartford for her school appointment. I then spent an hour at my desk at the office then started and drove to Great Barrington, Mass. to make my official visit to the Rotary Club there. How it did pour. They had a fine meeting, however, and a good attendance. I called on several of our customers in that vicinity. Drove back to Naugatuck and made my visit with them at an evening meeting that they had arranged purposely for me. Held our club assembly meeting afterwards and I came on home, arriving at about 10-30 very tired. The rain today probably relieved a serious water shortage due to the long dry spell.
