Beautiful day. We kept store open all day. The banks and city hall closed on account of Columbus Day. It is a holiday in Massachusetts also so the Springfield store closed all day. Took Mrs. Grant Noble out to the Yale Bowl. Grant had gone to Dartmouth to scout for the Yale team. The Yale J.V. played Pennsylvania J.V. and Yale freshman played Andover. These games were played in the Bowl as the Yale Varsity was playing in Athens, Georgia, dedicating their new stadium there and incidently getting a trimming 15 to 0 by the Georgia team. I presided at a Boys Scouts "Round Up" dinner at the Hotel Taft at 6-30 and came out home on the trolly car.
