Tuesday, October 29, 1929 At the store early. Mr. Valentine, of the Baeck Wall Paper Co, called and went through the Muralia line with us. I left the store at eleven o'clock and drove to Bridgeport to make my official visit to the Bridgeport Rotary Club. The meet at the Stratfield Hotel. Had a good meeting. Drove back to the store and worked till six o'clock. Came home to dinner and then attended a meeting of the Spring Glen Group forming a new church in this location. We met at the Spring Glen School. I was elected moderator and Mr. Lewis L. Gilbert secretary, Prof. John Clark Archer chairman of the special committee made his report, which was adopted. Voting that we organize a church that it be known as the Church of Christ in Spring Glen and that we engage the Rev. Mr. Bunker to undertake the work.
