Monday, September 2, 1929 Labor Day. Store closed all day. Hottest day of the year 94° and the hottest September 2nd on record. We closed the store all day. I worked in the garden till lunch time then gave up on account of the heat. Grant and Helen Noble came out in the afternoon for a little change of air and a bath. They are settling their new home on Lake Place and no gas or electricity as yet. We all had supper together and T.P.H. took them in town in the car.
