Intended driving to North Adams today to speak at the Rotary Club at noon but on account of Capt. "Pete" Booth's funeral, for which I was one of the bearers, I phoned up and asked to be excused. We buried "Pete" this afternoon in Evergreen Cemetary. Carl Ballmann, Harry Chatfield, Fred Halloway, and I were bearers representing the Veterans and Lieut. Moyle and First Sergeant Leete represented the Active Company. The service was held at Beecher, Bennett, and Lincoln's. The flowers were lovely. T.P.H. brought our car to the cemetery and immediately after we left for Northampton, Mass. We called at the house for Sally and Pete and drove up in two hours. I spoke at the Rotary Club at the Hotel Northampton, this being my official visit. We drove home in the beautiful moon light.
