Wednesday, September 18, 1929 Drove up to Thompsonville this morning. Made my official visit to the Rotary Club at noon luncheon. They met at the Enfield Inn. Afterwards, I drove on to Springfield and spent the afternoon at the Springfield store. Called at the Oxford School in Hartford for Sarah and we came home together. Ran out of gasoline out here in Centerville. Had to hike to a filling station. Went down to the Armory tonight to visit the Grays. They all felt pretty low after Pete Booth's funeral. At the meeting following the drill, I talked to the Company about Pete and about our parties.
