Sunday, September 22, 1929 A beautiful Fall day, cool and bracing. Our furnace fire does not feel uncomfortable. We did not go to church today as Bert and Jess were here. We had a late breakfast and later, Tess and I took them down to Harley and Alice for dinner and the afternoon. They will come back to us later this evening. I went over to see Violette this afternoon. Richmond was there. They had all just returned from taking Lota down in Maine to a house party with a lot of Smith girls. They will all go to college directly from there. Harley and Alice brought Bert and Jess back here for the night. We all visited together for a while before going to bed.
