Friday, September 27, 1929 At the New Ocean House, Swampscott, Mass for the Fall Conclave of the 30th District Rotary International. Today was gray and cloudy. North East wind so cold but no rain. So a good many people went out of doors for the sports and games. We had an informal luncheon at noon and District Governors Reception at 5:30 with Governors Dinner and Ball afterwards. All of the past District Governors and their wives are here with the exception of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Bagg. He was too ill to come. George Lovell, President of the New Haven Club, was the principle speaker at the dinner and he did give us a fine talk. We all danced or played bridge till midnight then went to bed. Tired but happy.
