Wednesday, April 9, 1930 Still windy and cold. Father Peck had a very bad night. Tessie and the nurse up nearly all night. He was quieter this morning but at 9-45 A.M. he just stopped breathing and joined Mother, who had gone on ahead last January. He was a noble old oak. He had stood the battles of storm and wind for nearly ninety years and came through always with his head erect and courage unchanged.
