Tuesday, April 15, 1930
Instead of going directly to the Hotel Taft for our Rotary meeting, we all gathered at Trinity Church for our annual Lenten Service. Billy Phelps (Prof. William Lyon Phelps) was the preacher of the day. He gave us a wonderful talk. We then went up to the Hotel Taft for our luncheon. Sarah called for me at four o'clock and brought me home. I dressed for dinner and drove in town, picked up Don Adams, and went on to Bridgeport, where we attended the Ladies Night of the Bridgeport Rotary Club. Ray Kneppel of New York and Don Adams and Jim Thwing, and I were the speakers. We had a good dinner and a fine time
