Rotary Club Booms Kieser for Governor
Name to Go Before District Conference at Spring meeting
The board of directors of the Rotary club today announced at the weekly luncheon at the Hotel Kimball that it has recommended to the club the sponsoring of the candidacy of Paul W. Keiser, immediate past president of the club, as district governor of the 30th Rotary district. Kieser's name will be placed before the spring conference of the club at the meeting in New Haven, Ct., May 7 and 8, and in the event of his election he will attend the conference in Vienna in June. Efforts will be made to solicit the cooperation of the various clubs in the district to also sponsor Kieser's candidacy.
Dr. Laurence L. Doggett, president of Springfield college, was the guest speaker at the luncheon today. He told of his trip to Europe as a member of the Institute of International Affairs. He stated he visited six capitals in Europe and the theme of the institute was politics, economics and the industrial situation in Europe. The economic conditions in England, he stated, were the most distressing of any country the group visited. He stated that it was the opinion of the institute that a United States of Europe should be developed instead of the present forms of government that are now in existance.
