The veil, which has been worn by several brides in the Hodges family and by Mrs. Howard Donovan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton J. Curtiss, when she was presented at Court, is a family heirloom and was the wedding shawl of the bride's paternal grandmother. Her basket was filled with field flowers. Mr. Edward C. Cole, Dartmouth 1926, was Mr. Barker's best man, and the ushers were: Professor Stanley McCandless of the Department of Drama at Yale; Messrs. H. Howard Wicks of Des Moines, Ia.; Nathaniel N. Noble, Yale 1928, of Lenox, Mass.; and Glenn Barker of Mason City, Ia., brother of the bridegroom. At the Spring Glen Club, where the reception followed, baskets of Spring flowers laurel and oak leaves were used for decorations. She was a third year student in the Department of Drama at Yale. Mr. Barker was graduated from Iowa State College and was also a third year student in the Department of Drama at Yale. The table was decorated with a centerpiece of pink roses and blue forget-me-nots and the handkerchiefs were concealed in an imitation wedding cake decorated with a miniature bride and bridegroom and surrounded by white roses.
