Sunday, August 3, 1930 Very very hot today. Slept late, had breakfast on the porch with Sarah. Peter has gone to the Playhouse. Sunday is no day of rest for him. We did house work and layed around till dinner time and all had it together. We then packed up and drove up to say goodbye to Peter and Buddy and to see the new "sets" for the play for this week. We drove down home via Norfolk, Winsted, Avon, Farmington, Cheshire, to Hamden. Made the 90 miles in about 2 3/4 hours despite the heavy traffic. We found Ed Cole and Alice Crawford at the house. They had come up to New Haven house hunting. They stayed all night with us.
