T.P.H. met Alice Drew Lockwood at New Haven Station at 9 A.M. and drove to Stockbridge to spend two days with Sally and Peter. Before leaving, Tessie took some of Father and Mother Peck's dahlias (which we are growing this year) up to the cemetery as this would have been their 65th wedding anniversary had they lived till today. Mr. Gibson of Becker, Smith, and Page called today and looked over one selection. I had dinner with him at the Hotel Taft and then we went across to the Roger Sherman Theatre to the movies. I came home on the trolly car and found Larry Stone here to stay all night. His family is down to East River for the Summer. Sir Thomas Lipton's Yacht "Shamrock V" arrived under her own sails from England for the races for the American Cup. This is the fifth attempt of Sir Thomas to win the cup. It is said that he has spent 10 million dollars on these races
