Friday, August 15, 1930 Glorious rain today. The first in many weeks. It rained all night and most of today. Tessie called up from Stockbridge and said she would stay over till tomorrow rather than drive down in all the rain. The general committee of the Church of Christ in Spring Glen met at our house tonight. Fourteen men besides myself were here. We discussed many matters of interest regarding this experiment in a Community Church. We decided not to pass the plates for an offering at the church services, rather let all give voluntarily.
