Saturday, August 16, 1930 Terrific rain, hail and thunder and lightning storm this forenoon. The drain on the roof of our York Street building got stopped up and the water came through the skylight and went down clear through to the first floor, damaging a lot of Wall Paper. Cleared off by noon so that the "Grotto" Convention Parade was held as planned. We closed the store at noon. I went up to Ellsworth Avenue and called on Mr. and Mrs. Gordon (Dorothy Memmott) and their son John. My but he is a fine boy. They are on their way home from their vacation. T.P.H. and Alice arrived home from Stockbridge this afternoon. Alice had supper with us then we took her in to the New Haven Station for home [Prev](1930_08_15.md) - [Next](1930_08_17.md) <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/d/1AMSlVcmDvkU8PwA9dsD35WhA8PGGpfWx">
