Very warm today. I took the Packard in town today to have the oil changed. We had a telegram from Sally in New York this morning saying that she and "Bud" Wicks had driven down to New York from Stockbridge to meet Vio Powell as she arrived from Prague, Czechoslovakia. They then drove on up to New Haven and arrived here in time for dinner just tired out and after eating dinner, we put them right to bed. Ed Cole and Alice Crawford arrived in town from Pawtucket to select Wall Papers for their new apartment. They are to be married next Saturday. They were also here to dinner and will spend the night with us. So nice to have Sally home with us even for a few hours
