Very cold, thermometer down to 14°. Tessie and I drove down to the New Haven station and bid Bon Voyage to Bert and Jess Hodges, who were leaving for New York to go on to Chicago and thence to San Francisco and China. Attended New Haven Rotary Club at Hotel Taft. Tessie called for me at three o'clock and I came home, got my bag, and drove up to Holyoke, Mass. to the fifteenth anniversary celebration of the Holyoke Rotary Club. It was a fine party. I spent the night at the Hotel Nonotuck, which gave me a chance to visit with my dear friends Jim Gunn and Al Colvin and Al Lavery. A letter from Sally in Chicago telling us of the severe cold weather out there
