Sunday, December 28, 1930 Woke up in Chicago at Sally and Peter's. We all slept late, got up, and had breakfast and all of us took a train in town. Peter to go to the theatre and we three took a "Loop" train for Oak Park and to spend the afternoon and have dinner with Tom and Edna (Crittenden) Hall. We had a lovely dinner and a fine visit with these dear old New Haven friends. We sat around the fireside and talked and ate nuts till quite late then took a train back to Chicago and Sarah's apartment. Peter came along soon. Sarah made tea and we all went to bed.
