A beautiful day clear as a bell but very cold. Thermometer down to 12 above zero. Tess and Sally went in town to St. Paul's Church, I went over to the Spring Glen Club to the first preaching service of "The Church of Christ in Spring Glen" - Rev. Fred Bunker was in charge of the service and preached the sermon. It was a fine service. So ernest and sincere. Prof. Archer, Mr. Jones, and two ladies sung as a quartette. After dinner, Sally and I took a walk up on to the Ridge Road. It was very cold but bracing. A big crowd of children were skating on the Spring Glen ponds. I took the Christmas tree down today, also the roping around the living room. Tonight, Mother Peck fell in the dining room and fractured her shoulder and hip. We got her to bed and the doctor came and made her comfortable
