Mother Peck passed away at 8-15 this morning. She had been growing weaker for two day past. I drove in town and arranged with Hayes and Pierce to take charge of the funeral. It is raining and freezing in the windshield and very bad driving. Mr. Pierce and his assistants came out later and took Mother Peck into their Funeral Home. Father Peck decided to have the funeral Tuesday afternoon at 3 P.M. Mr. Weir of St. Paul's Church will conduct the services. Poor old Father is bearing up pretty well. He will be 89 years old next month. They had been married 64 years last August. Tess has been just lovely to them and I am proud of her.
This is my fifty-fourth birthday. Had a lovely letter from Alice Drew. Also a letter from Dorothy Memmott Gordon. Sally and Mother gave me six books of Eddie Guests poems. I shall love them. Violette called me and asked me to call and she gave me a fine book, also for my birthday
