Tuesday, July 1, 1930 On board steamer South American sailing through the Great Lakes. We left Lake Huron this morning, came through the St. Clair River into Lake St. Clair and to Detroit. We landed there and were shown about the city in motor busses. Returned to the ship in time for lunch and sailed away down through the Detroit River into Lake Erie and on to Cleveland Ohio. We stopped there for a half hour to take on passengers. Tonight we had a costume party on board ship.
