Thursday, July 3, 1930
We awoke in Sarah's home at Stockbridge, Mass, having spent the first night in their home, which was a very happy experience for us. We had breakfast together and then I took Peter up to the Berkshire Play House and came back. T.P.H., Sarah, and I then came down to New Haven in the Packard. We stopped at the "Yellow Candle" in Cheshire for lunch and then came on to the house. We found everything all right. I unpacked my things and drove in to the office and greeted all the people there. I spent the afternoon going over my Rotary and business mail then came home for dinner. Mother and Sally went in to see Violette and to bring home her oriental rugs
