Very very hot. The heat today established a new record for New Haven in July. Many thermometers in New Haven registered 104°. The official record by the weather bureau was 96°. Worked till one o'clock. Came home on the trolly car for lunch. Paul and Portia Keisey, Patty and Bobby came down from Springfield for the week end. My but it was a hot ride for them. We all went down to Nate Dane's cottage at Sachem's Head. We all had a swim and a stick roast, coming home in the evening to a hot house
