At the Commodore Hotel in New York. Cooler outside but still very hot in the hotel. Called the store and talked to Mrs. Wood and Harley. Looked at Standard Haffelfinger and Hunkin this forenoon. Had lunch with Charlie Slocomb this noon. Looked at York Card, Stamford, Muralia, and Wall Tex this afternoon also the Beck Machine Co. Bathed, dressed, and had dinner with Mr. Valentine of the Muralia Company. Then went alone to see "Green Pastures" at Mansfield Theatre. The whole cast is colored. Very good play. Had a long talk with Lew Chase of Becker, Smith, and Page today and we will have a better price this year
