Commodore Hotel, New York, Room 1706. Very hot again but will finish up today and go home. Had breakfast at Childs on 42nd Street then bought my transportation for New Haven. Attended special meeting of the National Wholesalers Ass'n in Mr. Thibants room. Afterwards, looked at the Prager and Allen Higgins lines and they are the last, thank goodness. It has been a hot trying week. This is the first year I have done it alone. I have missed Harley's company. Phoned Phobe Thomas Welles and invited her to lunch. Met her at the McAlpin and ate lunch on the roof where there was a suspicion of a breeze. We talked over old times and enjoyed it. Came up home on the four o'clock Standard. Tessie met me and I was glad to see her and also glad to get home. We drove down to Wilcox's for dinner. Found the Don Sterlings there and we all had dinner together. Still very hot
