Saturday, June 28, 1930 On board the "South American" tied up to the Navy pier at Chicago. We had breakfast on board then were taken in busses for a ride about and around Chicago. Had lunch at the wonderful Edgewater Beach Hotel then back to the boat. We sailed this afternoon at 4:30 for Mackinac Island. had dinner on board then listened to an entertainment joining in at the end singing Rotary songs. We then repaired to the dance hall and danced till eleven o'clock.
