Clear and a bit warmer but still quite cold. Lent began today. Tessie went in to St. Paul's Church to communion. Peter went up to Hartford with Sally as it was her day at the Oxford School. I had supper in town then went over to Calvary Church to prayer meeting and a business meeting that followed. I was elected moderator of the meeting and the matter discussed and adopted was the budget for next year. Dr. Arthur Twining Hadley, immediate past president of Yale University, died today in Kobe, Japan after but two days illness of pneumonia. His body is to be brought back to New Haven for burial
