Saturday, May 17, 1930 Warmer today. T.P.H. let the furnace fire go out. Worked till 2-30 then came out on the trolley car and worked out of doors till supper time. Afterwards, Tessie, Sally, and I went in town to the arena to the Horse Show. It was just fine and so exciting. Came home. Listened to the radio awhile and went to bed. This afternoon late, we heard the broadcast of the Kentucky Derby Race at Churchill Downs at Louisville Kentucky. Gallant Fox won Earle Saude up.
