Monday, November 3, 1930 Still fine and warm. In to the office early. Left at about 10:30 and drove for the Saybrook Rotary Club. They are meeting at the Pease House at Saybrook Point, a very lovely place. It was such a fine ride on an ideal Autumn day. The sun warm and brilliant. We had a good attendance at the club and they gave me excellent attention. Tonight, I attended the opening dinner of the Community Chest at the Hotel Taft. Judge York announced twelve gifts that totaled $68,000. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Brewster gave $20,000, a wonderful gift.
