Thursday, October 2, 1930 At the New Ocean House, Swampscott, Mass. Opening day of the Fall Conclave of the 30th District Rotary International. Good crowds arrived by noon. First meeting, a luncheon meeting. I presided as chairman of the committee. Afternoon given over to sports and games. Reception to Governor and Mrs. Richard E. Dodge at 5-45. Then the big banquet. I presided as toastmaster. I introduced the past district governors and their wives, also special guests. Our speakers were Governor Dick Dodge and Ray Knoeppel of the Rotary Club of New York. Following the dinner came the Governors Ball. Governor Dick lead with Tess and I followed with Mrs. Dodge. After the dance, a few of us old timers met down in the Tea Room and had a lot of fun.
