Bessie Fox with us for breakfast. I went in to the office then started to drive to the Springfield store. Called for Bessie here at the house, picked up Ralph Fox up in Meriden, and went on to Springfield. We three had lunch at the Hotel Kimball then I let them take my car and they went over to Westfield and called on Lucy Cosby and other friends. We all came back tonight. Bessie and Ralph stopped at Meriden for dinner. I came on home. After dinner, I drove in to Calvary Church to a meeting of the "Committee of 21" appointed to fill the pulpit and secure a new pastor. Later, Ralph and Bessie and a young lady friend of their's stopped on their way from Harley's house to Meriden. Bessie spends the night with us. The Philadelphia American League team won the sixth and deciding game of the World Series from the St. Louis Nationals
