Very hot today, temperatures around New England reported as high as 89°. Very dry and many forest fires. Luncheon this noon in the Ball Room of the Hotel Taft. Chamber of Commerce luncheon as host to Engineers representing twenty five foreign nations who attended the Congress of Road Builders at Washington and were passing through New Haven. Late this afternoon, District Governor Dick Dodge called for me and I went with him up to Danbury to visit the Danbury Rotary Club Directors. We had dinner at the Hotel Green then met with the men at the Danbury Club. Tessie took Mrs. Dodge to the Shubert Theatre. They both stayed all night with us
