Thursday, October 23, 1930 A gorgeous day. Tessie and I drove to Pittsfield, Mass. where I spoke at 12-15 at the Pittsfield Rotary Club. George Cooper, Allen Bagg, Bert Brewer, Bill Root, and a host of other good friends were there. I spoke on vocational service. Mother Cooper entertained Tess at lunch also at the Hotel Wendell after lunch we went over and saw George Cooper's new offices. Then I called on several customers and then we drove to Dalton, Hinsdale, Becket to Bonny Riggs Corner and down Jacob's Ladder to Westfield. We called on Lucy Cosby then on to Springfield. We called the Newells, asked them down to the Hotel Kimball for dinner, then went back home with them for the night. The drive to Pittsfield and back to Springfield was a never-ending joy.
