Thursday, October 30, 1930 Rainy day again but we need it and a lot more. T.P.H. birthday today. I had no gift for her today as I am waiting to get her a cabinet for her shoes and stocking that she wants very badly. She had a letter from Sally which was the best gift she could have. We both went to the Taft Hotel tonight to a Chamber of Commerce dinner. A speaker from the New England Council was the occasion.
